MICROWAVE FREQUENCY GENERATION UP TO 70 GHZ USING ER-DOPED FIBER OPTIC FREQUENCY COMB

摘要

Frequency calibration measurement refers to the use of a standard frequency instrument to obtain the relationship between the values delivered by a device under test with those of a frequency standard. The use of standard frequency instruments for calibration can ensure the reliability of measured results. Using the frequency repetition rate characteristics of the optical comb laser, the corresponding train of current pulses are generated through photoelectric conversion [1, 2]. Therefore, suitable optoelectronic components are used to generate signals above tens of GHz to achieve the target of microwave frequency measurement. In this paper, we have demonstrated the relevant signal characteristics by using the down-convert technique for measuring frequencies from 60 to 70 GHz and optimized the frequency stability of the system.
