從《戰爭遊戲》、《死者代言人》與《明日滅亡》的生命救贖及宗教關懷論析科幻小說的深層意義

在西方，科幻小說有著悠久的傳統，但主要還是以通俗讀物、娛樂作品的形式出現。可是從赫胥黎(Aldous Huxley, 1894-1963)的《美麗新世界》(A Brave New World)及喬治•歐威爾(George Orwell, 1903-1950)的《1984》兩部名著開始，嘗試通過科幻小說這個文類去探討自由與集權的嚴肅問題之後，一直發展到後來的三大科幻小說大師－艾西莫夫、克拉克、以及海萊因，其間科幻小說在西方名家輩出、傑作紛呈，而且從不間斷的嘗試思考人類生命的祕密及人類社會何去何從的問題；於是，科幻小說已經不是「娛樂」的代名詞，而逐漸累積出深厚的思想性與藝術性。本文要介紹的兩位小說家卡德與張草的三部作品－《戰爭遊戲》、《死者代言人》與《明日滅亡》，正是有著這種深層結構的經典之作。而且本文進一步觀察到這一洋一土的兩位小說家擁有著相當契合的寫作風格：「文以載道」的藝術類型、突出的宗教背景、深刻的思想元素、以及細膩感人的言情筆觸。對筆者個人的閱讀歷史來說，發現這兩位小說家的作品是相當令人驚喜、而且充滿啟發的閱讀經驗。也許，同時擁抱藝術與市場、可讀性與深刻性，正是科幻小說最大的魅力所在。本文要介紹的兩位小說家卡德與張草的三部作品－《戰爭遊戲》、《死者代言人》與《明日滅亡》，正是有著這種深層結構的經典之作。而且本文進一步觀察到這一洋一土的兩位小說家擁有著相當契合的寫作風格：「文以載道」的藝術類型、突出的宗教背景、深刻的思想元素、以及細膩感人的言情筆觸。對筆者個人的閱讀歷史來說，發現這兩位小說家的作品是相當令人驚喜、而且充滿啟發的閱讀經驗。也許，同時擁抱藝術與市場、可讀性與深刻性，正是科幻小說最大的魅力所在。

In the West, science fiction has a long tradition, but mainly to popular reading materials, entertainment in the form of work. However, from Aldous Huxley's (1894-1963) ”A Brave New World” and George Orwell's (1903-1950) ”1984”, the beginning of two famous novels, try to explore some serious problems, and the later development of the three major science fiction masters Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke, and Robert A Heinlein, science fiction begins to think about the secret of human life and the development of human society; therefore, science fiction is not entertainment only, and gradually accumulated a profound ideological and artistic quality. This article introduces the two novelist Card and Chang's famous work ”Ender's Game”, ”Speaker for the Dead” and ”Ruin of Tomorrow”, this is a deep structure of the classic. In this paper, we discover these novels embracing the arts and the market at the same time, and that is the most charming point in the world of science fiction.
