Ji nei jin is the inner membrane of the gizzard of the common chicken, (Phasianidae family). It is golden-yellow to greenish-yellow in color and its shape is irregular, curled slices. Those which are large, dry, unbroken pieces are considered superior. Ji Nei Jin primarily enters the channels of the spleen and stomach. Nowadays most doctors employ Ji Nei Jin to treat accumulation and stagnation, and to fortify the stomach. In fact according to both ancient and modem medical writings the uses of Ji Nei Jin are very different than this.
