The purpose of the study was to examine the DNR (Do not resuscitate) attitude, care DNR patients' attitude, and related factors in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nurses. 74 subjects of ICU nurses were recruited in a Northern Teaching Hospital from July 5 to July 12, 2004. The purposive sampling was used in the study. The instruments of the study contained the literature views and consulted reference experts to develop the questionnaires, which included the DNR attitude and care DNR patients' attitude with the Likert 5-point scale. SPSS for Windows 10.0 analyzed data. The results of the study showed that: 1) the average of age was 25.5, never care DNR relatives or friends experiences were 66.21%, attendance of the hospice care training courses was 55.40% in nurses. 2) the total average score of DNR attitude was 3.54. 3) the total average score of care DNR patients' attitude was 4.08. 4) the DNR attitude and care DNR patients' attitude was positive correlation (r=.52, p<.01).5) unit and attendance religion activities with the DNR and care DNR patients' attitude were significantly different (p<0.5). 6) education level with the DNR and care DNR patients' attitude was significantly different (p<0.5).It indicated the bachelor in nursing was better than associate in nursing (five-year program) in the DNR and care DNR patients' attitude. 7) experiences of care DNR relatives or friends, attendance experiences of the hospice care training courses, and religion belief with in the DNR attitude was significantly different (t=-2.05~-2.88, p<.05~0l). In addition, an attendance experience of the hospice care training courses with care DNR patients' attitude was significant difference (t=2.17, p<.05). The results of this study will provide nurses as a reference on clinical care to improve the quality care of patients in ICU.
