摘要

癌症腦轉移因醫學科技的進步而逐年增加，雖然目前癌症腦轉移預後仍然不好，但新的緩和性放射治療發展，如立體定位順形放射治療和立體放射手術治療，可增加癌症腦轉移的控制，減少副作用，再配合安寧療護的強調醫學人文的發展與醫療團隊的努力，已衍生出許多新的適當處置可讓病人的痛苦減少，延長些許存活期，以及減輕家屬的無力與焦慮。目前腦轉移處置治療的新發展，需要花較多時間與病人與家屬溝通有關可能治療的選擇與治療與否的選擇，需要多給癌症病人與家屬更多的心靈支持，這也正是安寧療護的開始。預期醫療人員透過對癌症腦轉移新處置之了解與學習，可讓此類末期病人與家屬獲得最好的生活品質。

The incidence of brain metastases increases gradually in recent years due to new development of medical techonology. Although the prognosis of brain metastases still poor, new palliative radiotherapy including 3D conformal radiotherapy and stereotatic radiosurgery can enhance the control of brain metastases and decrease side effects. The Combination of palliative radiotherapy and palliative hospice care is a good way of reducing patient's suffer and prolong a little life span, and helping family's disappointment and anxiety.
More communication due to new development in management of brain metastases is another benefit for the patient and family. Throughout the learning new development in management of brain metastases, medical team can really improve the life quality of the patient and family.
