摘要

本文從夢境對人生意義之問題的探索開始，介紹當代釋夢學與夢工作在西方心理治療領域的重要性。筆者依丹麥心理學家Ole Vedfelt所列的歐美當代十三個重要釋夢學的方向與多重釋夢觀，簡要介紹當代釋夢學之背景。本文夢理論部分，聚焦於今日釋夢學基礎的精神分析學派之介紹：佛洛伊德、榮格與佛洛姆。夢領域的認識，除了夢理論的學習之外，也需踏入夢工作之經驗途徑，因此，接著介紹幾種夢工作之原則。夢工作的發展中，釋夢倫理的自覺是基本條件，需與夢工作並列。最後，筆者回到生死教育的議題上來，主張在生死教育的領域加入夢教育，並在臨終關懷、悲傷輔導與各類能心理工作中，也列入釋夢學與夢工作之學習課程。

The general question of the significance of dreams for the meaning of life is addressed in this paper in four parts:
The importance of the hermeneutics of dream analysis in the therapeutic field in western countries is explained. The writings of Ole Vedfelt, a psychologist from Denmark, are presented. Vedfelt classifies the modem hermeneutics of dream into 13 main streams, including dream interpretation in psychoanalysis, parapsychology and transpersonal psychology, and puts forward a concept of multidimensional dream analysis.
2. The subject of dream theory in psychoanalysis is described, in particular the dream theories of Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung and Erich Fromm.
3. A practical approach to dream-work is presented, including an ethical guideline for dream-work.
4. Finally a concept for the teaching of dream interpretation to students is presented, especially for students in the field of Life and-Death studies. In this field many people have questions about dreams, e.g. in the context of terminal care and bereavement counselling. An aim of the author is to integrate the field of dream work into Life-and-Death studies.
