Severe sepsis and septic shock are increasingly common and carry high mortality up to 60% in spite of aggressively intensive care and strong antibiotics intervention. To find an effective treatment of sepsis and septic shock is an important clinical problem. Although there are no similar terms, sepsis and septic shock are compatible to the following conditions such as warm toxin, spread of nail-like boil toxin, and inward development of toxin from cellulites, jaundice, Jue Syndrome and collapse of Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
