台灣地區糖尿病友團體在行政院衛生署國民健康局鼓勵之下陸續成立,至2007年11月,共成立了453個團體,本研究的目的爲評估這些團體的運作成效。以衛生署國民健康局所設計的「2007年糖尿病友團體重點成效評值表」作爲評量工具,並統一發函直轄市及各縣市政府衛生局辦理調查,評量項目包括自我血糖監測、飲食、運動、體重控制,及糖化血色素等,以團體爲單位,逐項詢問實際執行的糖尿病友及高危險群的人數,但糖化血色素只適用糖尿病人。回收320個團體的資料,分析結果顯示執行各項自我照護行爲的糖尿病友人數有增加的團體數爲221-294個(69.1%-91.9%),而執行自我照護行爲的高危險群人數有增加的團體數爲128-174個(40.0%-54.4%);全省各區的參與情形不同,各項自我照護行爲的執行也有差異。
Objectives: In Taiwan, community-based groups for diabetes patients were initiated by the Bureau of Health Promotion, Department of Health (DOH). Until Nov. 2007, there were 453 diabetes groups. An NGO was invited to assist and empower these groups by DOH. The aim of this research is evaluating the effectiveness of these community-based groups. Methods: The questionnaire was designed by the Bureau of Health Promotion and distributed to the Bureau of Health in each cities and counties. The evaluated items included the number of diabetes patient and their family members who have executed physical activity, healthy eating, body weight control, and blood sugar monitoring. For patient only, the glycosylated hemoglobin (A1C) monitoring was evaluated. Result: There were 320 groups recruited in this evaluation. Of these groups, 201-294 groups showed effectiveness in the increased number of members who had executed good self-care behavior and monitoring. And there were 128-174 groups of which family members were increased in executing self-care behavior and blood sugar monitoring. There were differences in participating rate among districts. Conclusion: The results show that the community organization can foster patient self-management.
