臺灣職棒球隊投手任務分配模式之建構

An Optimal Decision-Making Model for Professional Baseball Teams in Taiwan to Allocate Pitcher Tasks

摘要


本研究旨在利用科學的方法建構臺灣職棒球隊投手任務分配之模式。為考慮評估的複雜性與多準則決策之特性,本研究應用層級分析法針對職棒投手表現評估準則求取任務分配之權重,並搭配理想解類似度偏好順序評估法進行投手任務排序之實證分析。研究結果顯示在職棒投手任務分配各項準則權重會依照先發、中繼及救援有所差異。實證分析方面利用中華職棒大聯盟2007年至2009年例行賽資料進行來年年度冠軍球隊之驗證。結果發現中華職棒大聯盟年度勝率第一的球隊在投手任務分配上以先發投手較為準確,中繼投手與後援投手之結果部份顯示有部分差異。

For this study, we used scientific methods to grade the pitching styles of pitchers playing for Taiwan's professional baseball teams to obtain data for optimizing pitcher task allocation during contests. Because of the complexity of assessing each pitcher's performance, we employed the analytical hierarchical process (AHP) to resolve multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems. In addition, to determine the weight of the assessment criteria and pitcher ranking issues, we analyzed the data using the technique for order performance by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) model to enable managers and coaches to make optimal decisions regarding pitchers. The results show that the tasks allocated to starting pitchers, middle relief pitchers, and relief pitchers varied with different criteria weights. The data used for this study were actual data from the 2007 to 2009 Chinese Professional Baseball League Championships. The results indicate that decisions on starting pitchers were more feasible and effective than those on middle relief pitchers and relief pitchers. We present our analytical rationales and conclusion and provide suggestions for further studies.
