On the Testing Hypotheses of Mean and Variance for Interval Data

關於區間資料的期望值與變異數的假設檢定

摘要


對於資料型態以單點出現的檢定,其理論與方法已非常完備。但如原始樣本資料是區間形式則仍有許多問題尚未解決,比如說(1)區間隨機變數的分配是什麼樣子(2)如何對區間形式的母體期望值做檢定(3)若兩母體變異數是區間形式又該如何判斷是否相等。本文試圖推廣傳統統計檢定的方法,運用t-檢定與F-檢定去作決策。

About testing, the method and theory are complete in classical statistics for those data and parameters in point form. It is not easy to do the testing work if our sample data are intervals. There are problems unsolved such as (1) What is the distribution of interval-valued random variables. (2) How to test population mean which is an interval? (3) How to test two populations' variance equal or not? In this paper we try to extend classical testing methods such t-test and F-test with extended concept to test population mean and population variance which are intervals.
