Lots of important information and knowledge are concealed in huge course-choosing and score databases. To increase the understanding of students' achievements, this study applied data mining techniques to discover those information. This study used association rules to describe the characteristics of student course-choosing and decision tree to establish the predictive model for academic performance. The students could use the results of this research as a reference in course-choosing activities. The results were also useful in the curriculum planning and student counseling.
