大眾媒介資訊行為分析

A Review on Mass Media and Information Behavior

摘要


本文以文獻分析探討國內外大眾媒介與資訊行為相關研究,其探討目的是瞭解媒介組織內的人員或媒介閱聽人之資訊行為。筆者在研究分析過程中,發現大眾媒介資訊行為的研究,其主要探討主題是報社新聞工作者資訊行為研究。一般而言,新聞工作者的資訊主要是來自人際管道,而網路資源也提供了另一重要資訊來源。然而,新聞工作者在運用網路或資料庫資源時,卻會面臨到資訊檢索技巧訓練不足的問題。本研究根據結果提出新聞工作者之資訊行為模式,且為圖書館與學校提出一個資訊檢索訓練方向的參考,以解決新聞工作者資訊搜尋技巧的問題。同時,筆者建議報社在未來能重視新聞資料數位化典藏,以協助媒介組織的內部工作,並且能普及大眾所使用。此外,根據結果發現國內外大眾媒介資訊行為以媒介組織內專業人員為主要研究對象,期望在後續研究中能關注媒介閱聽人資訊行為之研究,可研究議題包括媒介閱聽人在虛擬社群之資訊分享行為或媒介迷資訊行為之探究,這將有助於擴展大眾媒介資訊行為的研究。

This paper aims to focus on the literature analysis of the use of mass media in information seeking for professionals in the communication related industries. In reviewing and synthesizing the literature, the authors conclude that the journalists' information seeking is mainly from interpersonal channel. Internet resources also serve as an important source. However, journalists encounter difficulties of retrieving information from digital archival databases on the Internet. This shows that formal training in retrieving archival news sources for mass media professionals is fairly insufficient. This study contributes to the existing literature by proposing an information seeking model based on reviewed literature for professionals in communication industries. Also, training suggestions for libraries and within schools of library and information science are provided. For future research, it is suggested that information behavior focusing on a particular media audience can be investigated. Information sharing in the virtual space can also be further studied to explore the concept of fans in the virtual community.
