後冷戰時代的民眾民主視野:亞洲民眾戲劇工作者的路徑

People's Democracy in the Post-Cold War Era: The Routes of People's Theatre Workers in Asia

摘要


當資本主義民主幾乎成為唯一選項下,後冷戰時代的我們還能如何想像民主?伴隨冷戰瓦解,1990年代的亞洲民眾戲劇工作者,也沿著相對寬鬆的局勢展開跨域合作。他們關切著以民眾為本位的民主,並透過跨域合作來實踐。本文即重返這段經驗且論證,在參照群眾路線的課題下,他們所實踐出的弱勢跨國主義以及平民民族主義。由此,我將指認出亞洲民眾戲劇工作者呈現的民眾民主視野。文末,我將藉此反思臺灣劇場領域的發展,以及弱勢跨國主義的課題。

As capitalist democracy almost becomes the only option, how is it possible to imagine an alternative form of democracy in the post-Cold War era? At the end of the Cold War, there has been a surge in transborder collaboration among workers of people's theatre in Asia since the 1990s. These workers share the same concern about the people-based democracy and practice it through international collaborations in the 1990s. This paper revisits their experiences and points out that the "mass line" is a reference point for them to carry out the practice of "minor transnationalism" and "popular nationalism". By so doing, the author of this study indicates the vision of people's democracy presented by the workers of people's theatre in Asia. After discussing their practice, the author reflects on the realm of Taiwan's theatre and the issue of "minor transnationalism" as well.
