Serial extraction is the planned extraction of certain deciduous teeth and specific permanent teeth in an orderly sequence, thus solves the problem of severe tooth-size/arch-size discrepancies, and preserves facial esthetics. Here we represent two cases of class I with severe crowding and moderate dentoalveolar protrusion in the stage of mixed dentition. By the procedures of serial extraction, Nance holding arch delivery and subsequent direct bonding with bracket to align the teeth, the ideal occlusion and esthetic profile were accomplished.
