摘要

在這篇論文裡，我們將探討北愛爾蘭的和平是如何促成的。首先，在簡單描述北愛的族群結構、以及歷史發展之後，我們將考察可能影響和解的外部因素、以及內部因素；前者包括英國、愛爾蘭、美國、甚至於歐盟的態度，後者包括國內重要政治勢立的立場，特別是和平運動者。此外，我們也將檢視Belfast Agreement(1998)的內涵，試圖判斷制度因素是否提供和解的誘因。最後，我們將提出北愛和平對台灣的啓發。

In this article, we will look into how peace has been won in Northern Ireland. In the beginning, we will briefly describe the ethnic structure and its historical development there. We will then examine some external explanatory variables, including the attitudes of the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, and even that European Union. Our next step will be to explore the positions of most important political actors, including that of the peace movement activists. Furthermore, we will investigate the Belfast Agreement and judge whether it has provided for any incentives for peace-making. Finally, we will arrive at how the experience in Northern Ireland may inspire Taiwan.
