Since 2003 the ”Real Estate Securitization Act” of Taiwan has become effective. Recently the Ministry of Administration has gathered relevant practices regarding the issue and has delivered a draft amendment of this Act for the Ministry of Jurisdiction's further review and discussion. At first glance, we notice from the draft amendment that the roles and positions of the real estate management have been overlooked, despite the fact that in other countries or territories, these roles are considered to be prime and crucial. Meantime, I will also observe the relevant laws and regulations from other countries or territories related to the managing of REITs and will compare with the drafted amendment of Taiwan. It is my hope that this discussion could recapture the attention to the roles and positions of the real estate management, thus supplement and conclude the ”Real Estate Securitization Act” of Taiwan
