水中體適能對樂齡族健康效益之影響

The Effects of Aquatic Fitness on the Elderly Adults

摘要


人口結構的高齡化,是世界上各開發國家所面臨的現象,更是必須積極應對的重要議題。依據聯合國定義,當一個地區六十五歲以上人口所占比例超過7%時,就稱為「高齡化社會」。根據人口統計資料顯示,我國六十五歲以上的老年人口比例已達9.94%。由此可知,我國已達到聯合國世界衛生組織所訂的高齡化社會指標,顯示台灣地區人口分佈狀況呈現快速老化的現象,正式邁入高齡化社會(行政院經建會,2006)。根據台灣內政部統計,截至2007年七月底老年人口統計231萬人,占人口總比例10.09%,老化指數56.65%,多年來有逐漸上升的趨勢。近年來,政府積極推動水域休閒活動,水中體適能在國內為新興的水域休閒運動,且參與者不需任何游泳技巧,適合各個年齡層,更是樂齡族及許多有特殊需求者的最佳選擇。本文藉由文獻資料探討方式,從介紹水中體適能談起,提出具科學性和可行性的水中體適能訓練原則,進而從認知面來探討水中體適能對樂齡族健康之效益,以提供愛好水中體適能的樂齡族一個更安全且有效的健身之道。

Population aging is a global phenomena; it is most advanced in the most highly developed countries. Population aging is constituted by a shift in the distribution of a country's population towards greater ages. Taiwan society is aging rapidly. In 1994, the proportion of over 65 years old to the total population in Taiwan reached 7.1percent and Taiwan was officially recognized as an ageing society by the United Nations standards. Taiwan is set to formally become an aging society in 2017, with the number of people aged 65 years and older accounting for 14 percent of the population by Council for Economic Planning and Development official. In recent years, government is supporting many kinds of aquatic leisure activities, aquatics fitness is one of the events. Aquatic fitness or water aerobics is performance of aerobic exercise in shallow water such as swimming pool, but which does not require any swimming skills. It is suitable for every age group, especially for the elderly, since the use of water supports the body and reduces the risk of muscle or joint injury. In addition the mitigation of gravity makes aquatic fitness safe for individuals able to keep their heads out of water, including the elderly. The purpose of this study was to discuss the effects of aquatic fitness for the elderly adults by the literature review. It is in order to provide a scientific and feasible aquatic fitness for the elderly.
