能量飲料近年廣受年輕人及運動員歡迎,運動飲料一般被認為具有增加運動能力、改善運動表現及加速運動訓練適應效果。能量飲料的主要成份多為碳水化合物、咖啡因、牛磺酸、維他命B 群及其他植物萃取物。在運動前攝取能量飲料,可以有效的幫助運動員更專助的心理狀況,並且在有氧耐力、及無氧的運動表現上都有明顯的促進效果,但也有愈來愈多的研究在探討其安全性及副作用的議題。本文針對能量飲料中的主要有效成份進行分析探討,並有系統的探討能量飲料在無氧運動表現,以及耐力運動方面的影響,最後從安全性評估的觀點,討論能量飲料可能產生的副作用及其生理影響,以期待透過本論文讓國內運動員及業餘選手對於能量飲料能有進一步了解,在能正確使用能量飲料,以達到促進運動表現之效果。
Consumption of commercial caffeinated energy drinks has elevated dramatically over the past years. It has been noticed that energy drinks are the most popular dietary supplement in the young adults. The main purposes of consuming the energy drinks are for enhancing workouts, improving sports performance and to stimulate faster training adaptations. The major ingredients in the most commercial energy drinks are carbohydrates, caffeine, taurine, vitamin B complex, and herbal extracts. It has been well established that consuming energy drink before exercise can promote mental focus, alertness, anaerobic and endurance performance. In this research, we reviewed the main ingredients in the common energy drinks, and the effects of the energy drink on the anaerobic and endurance performance would be discussed as well. Otherwise, we evaluated the safety consideration and the adverse side-effect of the energy drinks. We hope this research will assist young athletes to know more about the energy drinks, and intake the drinks appropriately to improve the exercise performance.
