以林齡-蓄積量模式估算柳杉級檜木人工林的碳吸存量

Carbon Sequestration Estimates for Cryptomeria and Cypress Plantations by Age-Based Stock Model

摘要


在全球暖化之環境議題中,藉由森林「碳吸存」來減緩溫室效應,已成為目前重要發展趨勢之一。如何有效地推估森林碳吸存量,亦為國家施政的重要議題。在實務上比較容易執行的方法,通常是以森林蓄積量來轉換成生物量,再使用碳轉換係數求得碳值,來評估碳貯存量。本研究應用林務局森林資源調查及永久樣區的資料,以林齡為基礎,發展各區域柳杉及檜木人工林的蓄積量模式,並參酌各區域資料配製所得之迴歸係數、地理位置及氣候等因素,將具有相似類型者予以重新整合,使更易於推估各林齡的森林蓄積量,進一步求得各林齡之生長率。接著再採用IPCC所建議或國內2006年以前先驅研究的轉換係數值,來估算碳吸存量。結果顯示從1995-2005年,以國內轉換係數去估算柳杉林型年平均的碳吸存量為95.85×10^3 Mg(lMg=10^6g:公噸),檜木則為52.64×10^3 Mg;亦即台灣柳杉林型平均每頃一年的碳吸存量為2.07 Mg ha^(-1) y^(1),檜木林型則為2.10 Mg ha^(-1) yr^(-1)。台灣中南部不論是柳杉或檜人工林其蓄積量及碳吸存量皆較東、北區好。本研究結果可提供相關領域的研究人員或森林經營管理者作為參考,並希望日後國內轉換係數發展較為完善時,配合本研究的方法,可進一步更精確地估算我國森林的碳吸存量。

In the environment issue of the global warming, to decelerate the greenhouse effect by forest carbon sequestration has already become one of the currently important development trends. In practice, forest inventory data are widely used for forest carbon stock estimates. Such data usually represent forest wood volume stock (m^3ha^(-1)), which needs to be converted to biomass carbon value (Mg C ha^(-1)). The objective of this study is to estimate the carbon stock for cryptomeria and cypress plantations in Taiwan on the basis of age-based forestry statistic s. The data sets of the third forest inventory and the permanent plots for cryptomeria and cypress plantations in Taiwan were applied to develop the regional accumulation of wood volume model based on stand age. We also combined those equations according to similar regression coefficients, the geographical location and the climate condition. It made much easier to estimate forest wood volume by age class, and furthermore to calculate growth rate. The carbon stock could be estimated using the conversion factors of IPCC or the local prior study before 2006. The results using the local conversion factors showed that in the period from 1995 to 2005, cryptomeria and cypress plantations in Taiwan, respectively. sequestrated 95.85×10^3 and 52.64×10^3 Mg C per year(1Mg=10^6g). one with an area-weighted mean 2.07 Mg C ha^(-1) per year, the other was 2.10 Mg C. The amounts of area-weighted mean (Mg C ha^(-1) per year) in both cryptomeria and cypress forest types in the central and southern part of Taiwan were higher than those in the northern and eastern part of Taiwan. The results of this study can provide a good reference for related researchers and forest management.
