A 40-year-old female patient suffered from symptoms of allergic rhinitis since high school. The symptoms aggravate especially when she was exposed to dust, cold air, stress or the burning incense in the temple. She had to take medicine, such as antihistamine to relieve symptoms, but the symptoms attacked frequently. The symptoms significantly relieved after receiving acupuncture treatment for more than one month with the methods of dispersing wind and dissipating cold(疏風散寒), moving qi and freeing the orifices(行氣通竅), tonifying the kidney and replenishing qi(益氣補腎) and upraising the yang qi(升提陽氣). After 3 month treatment, the patient had no more nasal symptoms when she went home sweeping and participated in the Zhong Yuan Pu Du Festival.
