三價鉻離子補充對於籃球選手在比賽期葡萄糖吸收能力之影響

Effect of Trivalent Chromium Supplementation on Glucose Tolerance in Basketball Player during Competition Season

摘要


本研究的主要目的為觀察口服三價鉻離子對於比賽期籃球選手胰島素敏感度與葡萄糖耐受度的影響。二十位大學校隊在全國性競賽期間參與本研究,依個人比賽參與時間均分成兩組其中包括:三價鉻離子補充組(C組,N=10)、安慰劑組(P組,N=10)。口服葡萄糖耐受度試驗(OGTT)在早晨空腹狀態下進行,鉻離子補充劑量為1毫克加入OGTT使用的葡萄糖溶液來補充,之後分析葡萄糖與胰島素之濃度。空腹狀態血液之肌酸激酶(creatine kinase CK)與血清可體松(cortisol)濃度也同時被測量。本研究發現三價鉻離子並不影響籃球選手在比賽期空腹葡萄糖與OGTT過程之葡萄糖濃度。然而C組在OGTT過程胰島素反應明顯較P組低。此外,兩組CK與血清可體松濃度無明顯差異。結論,本研究發現三價鉻離子在比賽期明顯提高胰島素敏感度。而這個改善效應與血液中CK與血清可體松濃度無明顯關連。

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of oral chromium picolinate on insulin sensitivity in basketball players. Twenty basketball players during competition were randomly divided into two groups: chromium picolinate supplemented (C, N=10) and placebo (P, N=10). Oral glucose tolerance was performed under fasted condition. One milligram of chromium picolinate was orally delivery with glucose during OGTT. Glucose and insulin level was measured. The levels of blood creatine kinase and serum cortisol were measured under fasted condition. During competition period, chromium picolinate supplementation did not affect glucose level under both fasted and OGTT conditions. Insulin level during OGTT was significan1y lowered by chromium supplementation. In addition, serum cortisol and blood CK in both groups were not different. During the competition season, we found that chromium picolinate supplementation significantly improves insulin sensitivity. Apparently, this improvement was not associated with the changes in blood CK and serum cortisol levels.
