摘要

在簡單介紹Métis的歷史發展後，我們根據解釋認同產生的三大理論，也就是原生論、結構論、以及建構論，分別探討Métis認同的三個面向。接著，我們考察加拿政府如何處理Métis的原住民族身分，包括行政、憲法、以及最高法院的判例。

After a brief introduction of the historical development of the Métis in Canada, we will employ three theories of identity formation, primordialism, structuralism, and constructivism, to explain how the three dimensions of their identity. We will then look into how the Canadian government has dealt with the issue of the Métis' indigenous status by administrative, judicial, and constitutional measures.
