美國退休社區之休閒服務探討

摘要

退休就是從緊張繁忙的工作撤退獲得釋放，可從事自由自在的休閒生活，也就是從賺錢的生活改變為花錢的生涯，使勞累疲憊的身心獲得休息。這一篇文章將探討退休之概念、學說、社區之功能與構成要素，退休社區之意義與特性與退休族群之休閒服務。結論將建議臺灣之休閒産業與老人保健，社會福利與退休服務，可借鏡美國之退休社區設計與老人休閒來促進臺灣之服務産業昇級與推廣，以利退休族群之生活需要。

This paper is going to discuss the leisure and recreation services for retirement community in the United States. The first section will present the basic definitions of retirement. The second section will discuss the concepts and theories of retirement; receiving retirement pension, retirement age, role-change theory, balance of work and leisure, and life-stage of creative values. The third section will discuss the functions and elements of a community. The fourth section will review the characteristics and types of retirement community; rural, urban and metropolitan types. The fifth section will discuss the leisure services of retirement community; using the largest retirement community of Leisure World ”Laguna Woods Village” in southern California as a model to discuss the various leisure programs and services for the retired folks. The conclusion will suggest that the government and leisure industries, economic and welfare policies, elderly health care and retirement education in Taiwan should look for the strength of leisure services and planning methods of retirement community in the United States and adapt the positive aspects of retirement community which can be applied to retirement policies in Taiwan.
