This article discussed the medical writings regarding offshore islands by two female Taiwanese physicians, Yi-Hsin Lin and Chia-Hsuan Wu, and analyzed the medical conditions of offshore islands described by them, as well as their viewpoints on the offshore islands. It was found that Yi-Hsin Lin described the wonderful encounters in Penghu with a comic strategy. At first glance, it has the intellectual elites' viewpoints of looking at the local society, but the fact is, she used this method to expose local social problems. Especially in the comparison part regarding outsiders (people from Taiwan Main Island), the author's self-identity with Penghu could be seen more clearly. Comic writing could be regarded as a treatment for Penghu society by the author as a native. As for Chia-Hsuan Wu, she lives on Orchid Island where the majority is the Tao People. Without sticking to the Taiwanese version of medical authority, she revised the original medical knowledge and experience and sought methods to adapt to local conditions. Moreover, in addition to focusing on the local deficiencies, she also affirmed the particularities of Orchid Island and reversed the master-slave relationship between the offshore islands and Taiwan Main Island.
