In offering a reading of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's ”Christology” from a gender-theoretical perspective, my investigation starts with an analysis of the connection between ”Creation and Fall and Christology”, continues with an analysis of the question of transcendence in Christology, and then ends with a proposal for the possibility of a re-inscription of the issue of sexual difference in Bonhoeffer's concepts of representation [Stellvertretung] and mediation [Vermittlung]. Seen with Bonhoeffer's concept of Christology in mind, Luce Irigaray's theory of sexual difference may also be understood as an alternative form of Christology.
