Supportive positioning of premature infant is using the nesting or supportive item to imitate an environment similar to the mother's womb for the maintenance of the premature infant's bending position. According to the current survey, paramedics are lacking the relative knowledge of in-service education, supportive positioning of premature infant in ward, standard of the positioning supportive holder, and measures of quality monitoring. The improvement program of this project includes: relative in-service education of positioning; regulation and promotion of the standard in supportive positioning of premature infant; regulation and promotion of the production standard for the positioning supportive holder; innovative design of new nesting cover and head collar; creating and pasting posters, reminder posters and positioning picture cards, and operation of quality monitoring. Through the improvement program, the accuracy for the supportive positioning of premature infant is increased to 80%, and the accuracy of positioning improved from 39.68% to 91.29%. The incidence rate of deformational plagiocephaly in premature infant when discharged from 60% to 10% after the improvement, and the quality of care is improved.
