A Proposal to Reduce Needlestick Injuries in the Nursing Staff

摘要

本專案旨在探討護理人員發生針扎的原因，並期能降低針扎事件，以提升護理人員工作環境的安全性；調查後發現護理人員針扎事件高的原因為：未落實執行預防針扎安全行為、針器安全設備不足、缺乏預防針扎危害安全作業規範及計劃、教育宣導及未落實查核；經擬定針扎預防策略：落實執行針頭不回套等預防針扎安全行為、增加多項安全針器設備與創新針器收集筒及防護措施，並制定預防針扎危害計劃，舉辦教育宣導與審核制度並落實查核。專案實施後護理人員針扎事件由改善前年平均50件降低至32.6件，降低比例為34.8%，且有逐年下降的趨勢，達專案下降30％之目標值；顯示落實並確實查核預防針扎安全行為、增加安全針器設備，能有效降低護理人員針扎事件。

The aim of this study was to estimate the cause of needlestick injuries in nurses. Hope to reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries in order to enhance the security of the nursing work environment. This survey found that the causes of the high incidence of needlestick injuries in nurses were: not fulfilling the prevention of needlestick safety behavior, lack of needle safety devices, being short of establishing a working standard, plan and education guidance of needlestick injury prevention, and not fulfilling checklist. The strategies of the prevention of needlestick injuries include: fulfilling the prevention of needlestick safety behavior such as no recapping, providing more needle safety devices, innovating needle collection bucket and precautions, providing the needlestick injuries plans, conducting meetings for education guidance, imposing censorship and fulfilling the checklist. After taking measures, the number of needlestick injuries incidence in nurses reduced from 50 to 32.6 per year (decreasing proportion 34.8%) and there was a decreasing trend, it reached the target value of decreasing 30%. It revealed that fulfilling the prevention of needlestick safety behavior and providing more needle safety devices can reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries in nurses effectively.
