The purpose of this study is to describe the two-week nursing care experience of a patient diagnosed with tonsil cancer undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy. The assessment and data collection used Gordon's 11 health functional models through observation, interviews and physical assessment. The patient's nursing care problems included chronic pain, oral mucosal disorder, insomnia and hopelessness. The individualized care plan and care measures aimed at alleviating pain, improving sleep quality, providing oral mucosal care, empathizing with patient, encouraging patient to express feelings, providing appropriate support and assistance to ease the sense of hopelessness and continue cancer treatments.
