The purpose of this article is to define stress perceived by adolescents of parents with cancer, its influencing factors, and related nursing interventions. Diagnosis of cancer in adults impacts the patient's physical, psychosocial, spiritual and economical situations. It also affects family members, especially the children during adolescence. However, few studies explore the perceived stress of adolescents from the life changes and trauma due to the diagnosis of cancer in the parents. Current literature review suggested two nursing interventions: (1) channel the parent-adolescent communication and (2) strengthen the network for supportive care. During the care of cancer patients, nurses need to extend their assessment and interventions to address stress of adolescents.
