A Store-and-Forward Mailbox Server Design for TUUSAT-1 Communication System

並列摘要

In this paper, design and development of a mailbox server as the software payload for TUUSAT-1, an experimental micro-satellite by Taiwan's universities, and the ground station for operating the TUUSAT-1 satellite are described. A commercial-on-the-shelf (COTS) amateur transceiver is modified and re-designed to work as the communication subsystem, and the PACSAT protocol, a wireless communication protocol especially suited for amateur satellite communication, is used in designing the mail server software payload. Successful functional tests of the TUUSAT-1 by integrating and operating of the ground station show that the objective of stored-and-forward mailbox server as a software payload for TUUSAT-1 is achieved, which exhibits the evidence that the idea of software payload fits the mission objective of lower communication rate and low cost of experimental satellite among Taiwan's universities.
