This study investigates the weight-loss information needs and information behaviors of female college students in Taiwan through interviews. The results showed that the primary reason that motivated female college students' weight loss came from the personal factor of "goal pursuit" and the conditional factor of "special timing." The type of information needed most was related to "exercise and fitness" and "diet and nutrition." In the planning process, the main information-seeking channels were search engines, followed by social media. The female college students found it challenging to judge the correctness of their obtained information because the search results were not ideal, the amount of information was too large for them to process, and the cost of money and time was extremely high. This study recommends that information providers update information as frequently as possible, and the experiences and information should be shared with caution concerning its authenticity and authority. When seeking information on weight loss, female college students may consider the correctness of the information in light of the research findings.
