Based on Basic Psychological Needs Theory (Ryan & Deci, 2000a), the present study were aimed to examine the mediation of basic psychological needs on perceived autonomy support in predicting subjective vitality. Eight hundred and sixteen young Taiwan college students in physical education were recruited. The measurement, such as Perceived Autonomy Support Questionnaire, Basic Need Satisfaction Scale, and Subjective Vitality Scale, were used. Main statistic methods were multiple simultaneous regression and multiple hierarchical regression. Results showed the prediction of perceived autonomy support on subjective vitality was partially mediated by satisfaction of needs for autonomy, competence and relatedness, and subjective vitality. According to these results, PE teachers may encourage their students more actively participate the decisions of curriculum contents, and then the students in PE may feel higher subjective vitality.
