This paper is from an action research study about a six-month course , called " The Modern Novel" in which emotional education was integrated into the education curriculum. The problem statement was: How can emotional education benefit students? The study was conducted as follows: (1) curriculum for a "The Modern Novel" course was created and implemented, incorporating the application of emotional education techniques, designed to analyze student assignments. (2) the action research strategy was examined monthly by the professor and participates. (3)Two writing sessions at the end of the course were given; students were assigned to write about family or romantic relationships. These were collected as data. (4)Three compositions about the long-term influence of parental disharmony were chosen to analyze the potential for the development of psychological growth from the integration of emotional education into undergraduate literature curriculum.
