神人對立或因信稱義-論蕭乾〈參商〉與許地山〈玉官〉的基督徒意識

Confronting Position of God and Men or Justification by Faith-Christian Consciousness in Hsiao Chien's "Tsan Shang" and Hsu Ti-shan's "Yu Kuan"

摘要


1840年第一次鴉片戰爭開始,不平等條約爲西方傳教士打開了中國禁閉百年的傳教之門,殖民政策以福音、醫院和文化教育爲掩護,全面向中國挺進,自此塞督教與帝國主義畫上等號,與中國傳統文化始終處於衝突與矛盾中。在基督信仰與民族主義的矛盾間,「五四」前後的作家們透過文學作品反映了他們對基督宗教的矛盾心情,構成了中國現代文學特有的文學現象。基督信仰與民族主義間的矛盾,成爲1919年至1945年問中國現代小說的主題之一,三○年代也成爲中國評價塞督教的重要轉折點。本文試就蕭乾和許地山以基督教義爲題材的小說中,最具代表性意義,且藝術價值最高的〈參商〉和〈玉官〉爲論述客體,透過作品的比較分析,以見「五四」時期中國作家與西方塞督精神的遇合所透顯出來的時代意義。

Since the first Opium War in 1840, unequal treaty opened the door of China for Western missionary; shielded by the cover of Gospel, hospital and cultural education, the colonization pushed forward in full-scale into China. From then on, Christianity equals to imperialism and .stands in a conflicting and contradicting position with Chinese traditional culture all along. Among the complex between Christian faith and nationalism, writers of ”May Fourth” reflected their mixed feelings towards Christian religion through literatures, constituting a unique literature phenomenon in Chinese modern literature. This contradiction became one of the themes in Chinese modern novel from 1919 to 1945. The 1930's was also an important turning point in terms of Christianity value in China. The purpose of this paper is to study novels of Hsiao Chien's ”Tsan Shang” and Hsu Ti-shan's ”Yu Kuan”, which was based upon Christian doctrines, as discussion objects. By comparison and analysis, the significance of the era during ”May Fourth” period when Chinese writers met with Western Christianity was apparent.
