摘要

以往要認識楚國的卜筮問題，常透過傳世文獻。今已出土幾批有關楚國卜筮記錄的竹簡，可以更加認識楚國的卜筮情況。卜筮可決疑，貞人可為官職，可見卜筮具有重要地位，貞人解讀卜筮結果，也扮演關鍵性的角色。貞人是傳承性很強的職業，有些同氏貞人甚至發展出世族性的專業。貞人有卜、筮分職的區別，卜人常多於筮人。又藉由繫聯可以判別卜具與筮具。其中長剌與新長剌，可為卜具。楚國出土卜筮簡記載的占卜用具常依據外觀與特質命名，許多名稱在傳世文獻未見，這也使對戰國使用的占卜用具有多一點認識。占卜過程中，出土文獻卜禁內容歸結結果，與傳世文獻的卜禁內容不一，各有遵循，蓋「三王不同龜，四夷各異卜」。一問數占則是普遍情況。在戰國卜筮簡一事數占原由常有二：確認貞斷結果與深問細節。
