摘要

目的：提出並探討一位79歲患有肺炎及脛骨骨髓炎的婦女，瞭解泌尿道感染如何使得疾病過程更複雜及影響其康復。方法：這位病人先前已由傷口培養呈陽性及X光照片的變化証實有脛骨骨髓炎，肺炎是在慢性骨髓炎開始被治療數週後才診斷出來。肺炎之臨床症狀在使用適當抗生素後呈現有義意的改善，然而，泌尿道感染卻使得治療過程更加複雜且延長她住院天數。結果：這位病人的不適情形及臨床症狀均逐漸解決。結論：泌尿道感染對於重症病人是一項考驗，而防止其發生則對病人的健康及醫療支出均有幫助。

Objectives: To report and discuss a case of pneumonia with tibia osteomyelitis in a 79-y-o woman, and how UTI complicated the disease process and influenced the recovery.Methods: This patient had been diagnosed to have tibia osteomyelitis by diagnosed to have tibia osteomyelitis by changes. Diagnosis of pneumonia was made several weeks after chronic osteomyelitis had been treated. Significant improvement of clinical symptoms from pneumonia was achieved with appropriate antimicrobial therapy. However, UTIs complicated the treatment process and lengthened her hospital stay.Results: This patient's complaints and clinical symptoms were resolved gradually.Conclusion: UTI is an ordeal for a critically ill patient. Prevention of UTI is essential for the sake of patient health and medical costs.
