Standard external fixation is generally used for treatment of open fractures, but patients often complain that the frames and rods are too bulky and interfere with daily activities such as sleeping and dressing. We report a case of a 32-year-old man who suffered an open left tibial fracture in a traffic accident. We applied external external fixator for definitive treatment of fixation with a locking plate after adequate debridement and wound treatment. This treatment not only provided adequate stability, as does standard external fixation, A 32-year-old otherwise healthy man but also better improved quality of life was brought to our emergency department during the clinical course.
