We report a life-threatening case of airway obstruction secondary to a huge blood clot during general endotracheal anesthesia. The huge blood clot was secondary to endobronchial hemorrhage caused by iatrogenic lung trauma. The life-threatening situation was relieved successfully by using an alternative suction technique through the endotracheal tube already in use. We recommend that the novel and simple method employed be used in situations of severe obstruction, when other techniques have failed or are unavailable.
