In the article an attempt is taken to formulate general specific features of myths and to demonstrate the difference between archaic and developed mythologies basing on Taiwanese aborigines and ancient Chinese mythology. At that much attention is devoting to the range of motifs, including, for example, St. Thompson A625.2 (Raising of the sky), F547.3.1 (Vagina dentate), A1101.1 (Golden age - Finishing of Golden age) and many others, so popular in archaic mythology.
