劉師培的應世經學

本文論述劉師培應用其經學思想，以從事社會改革活動的情況。劉師培是著名的經學家，學術思想雖以《春秋左傳》為主，但處在晚清，在傳統學術面臨西方思潮的挑戰之際，為維護傳統價值，發揚民族文化以抗西學，其論述已不限於《左傳》或古文經學，亦不以分辨今古文之歧異為目標。既繼承家學，重視《左傳》禮義思想，亦藉《公羊》論政，發揮《春秋》救亡圖存之大義。其申論傳統學術，特別著眼於時代需要，將經學用於應付世局變化，教導百姓，倡導合乎時代的道德規範及政治體制。劉師培從事的政治及文化社會活動，學者多有精闢論述。本文則著重在其經學思想與相關主張的聯繫，以此探討劉師培各種論述的依據及其積極從事社會改革的目的，冀能呈現劉師培以經義濟世之本衷及其學術思想的特質。

This is a discussion of the engagement in social reformation activities by Liu Shipei using his ideology in Jingxue studies. Liu Shipei is a famous scholar in Jingxue studies, whose main academic ideology basing on Chunqiu Zuozhuan. During late Qing dynasty, when traditional academic was challenged by western thoughts, his discussions no longer confined to Zuozhuan or ancient texts and Jingxue, neither to the differentiation of ancient and modern literatures, but rather with the purpose of defending traditional values, and to resist western studies by exerting the national culture. Thus beside inheriting his family learning, emphasizing the ritual thoughts of Zuozhuan, he also involved in political commentary by using the ideology of Gongyang, unleashing the idea of saving the country in Chunqiu. When elaborating the traditional academy, he placed particular emphasis in the demand of the period, using Jingxue to face the change of the world, teaching the people, initiating moral standards and political systems in line with the times. There are numerous precise elaborations on the engagement of Liu Shipei in political, social and cultural activities by various scholars. The emphasis of this article is on the connection of his ideology in Jingxue studies and related opinions, using this to study the basis of his discussions, and the purpose of his enthusiastic participation in social reformation, thus hoping to present the actual feeling of his effort in saving the world and the characteristics of his academic ideology.
