由《新竹州下局別頁索引》探討日治時期桃園郡轄下之臺灣地方仕紳與資本家階層

摘要

人物是影響歷史發展的主要因素，不過以往我們所知曉與研究者大多是世界級與國家級之歷史人物。然，對地方發展影響最甚者未必是國家級之歷史人物，反倒是地方之領袖人物。不過這些對地方有重大貢獻的人物卻經常受到忽視與漠視，致使地方一般居民根本不瞭解這些地方先賢。為彌補這種缺失，本園地已開闢「桃園先賢志略」單元來介紹夙昔各領域先賢典範。本單元歡迎專研桃園文史研究之學術先進共同經營。日治時期地方仕紳與資本家往往是地方的意見領袖或各經濟事業的領導人，這些菁英分子不僅為地方之翹楚，亦受日本政府所注意。以往在介紹這些仕紳與資本家時，資料多半出自地方所編纂的地方志、《臺灣人士鑑》、《臺灣官紳年鑑》等書或著重於個人事蹟之介紹，鮮少論及相關階層，更遑論由其他角度來探討。筆者有幸，數月前在本校桃園文史工作室閱讀到一份日治時其官方出版的《新竹州下局別頁索引》（亦即當年的電話簿），由該份電話簿中的電話使用者登記資料，就可看出當年新竹州轄下的地方仕紳與資本家階層。本文繼上期討論中壢郡後，接著介紹日治時期桃園郡的仕紳與資本家階層。

People are the main factors affecting the development of history, but in the past and we know most of the world-class researchers and national historical figure. However, impact on local development is not necessarily the most serious was a national historical figures, but rather places the leaders. However, these contributions are important to local people are often neglected and ignored, resulting in the local general population do not understand these regions sages. To compensate for this loss, the journal has opened ＂Taoyuan sages Chi strategy＂ means to introduce a model of past sages in various fields. This unit specializes in Taoyuan welcomes academic historical research advanced joint operations. Place during the Japanese occupation and the capitalist gentry is often local opinion leaders or leaders of various economic undertakings, these molecules not only for the local elite's leader, also affected by the Japanese government attention. In presenting these past gentry and the capitalists, the data are compiled mostly from local Chronicles, ＂Taiwanese Yearbook ＂ and ＂Taiwan gentry Yearbook＂ and other books, or focus on the personal stories of the introduction, rarely addressed the relevant class, let alone from other angles to explore. Author fortunate, a few months ago in the school Taoyuan History Workshop reading to a day when its official rule book ＂Hsinchu State Phonebook Index＂, by which parts of the user's phone phonebook registration information, can be seen when the Hsinchu State under the local gentry and the capitalist class. Following the discussion of this paper Chungli County, Taoyuan County, then introduced during the Japanese occupation and the capitalist gentry class.
