A program to recognize algae movements in serial images under microscope is introduced, which can recognize separate algae cells and estimate their moving vectors. The algae were cultivated as a source of substitute diesel fuel and the movement or velocity is taken as an estimation of their maturity. Such a process had been proved work for many samples and much faster than traditional chemical analysis.
