淺析新桿面溝槽規定對高爾夫運動之影響

Analysis of New Groove Rules of Golf's Impact

摘要


1980年代之前,V形溝槽一直是鐵桿桿面的唯一標準。1984至2010年期間,大多數的球友則使用U形溝槽。藉由鋒利的溝槽邊緣及深且寬的溝槽之利,提升了球友的擊球水平,且增加了高爾夫球的倒旋質量,尤其是從粗草區脫離的能力。簡而言之,U形溝槽能製造出比V形溝槽更多的倒旋質量,以致於落球在球道或果嶺外粗草區的擊球者未受到懲罰,造成開球準確率不再是贏球的關鍵要素。至此,美國高爾夫協會決定做出改變,包括美國職業高爾夫協會和蘇格蘭聖安德魯斯皇家古老高爾夫球俱樂部聯手頒佈了桿面溝槽設計限制的新規定,將桿面仰角大於或等於25度的球桿,其桿面溝槽寬度變小與降低溝槽邊緣的鋒利度。這些修訂旨在提升了擊球準確的價值,並讓落球在粗草區者受到懲罰。是故,本研究將以文獻探討的方式來分析因應新溝槽規則之要訣,希望球友能及早適應此一變化與趨勢。

Before 1984, all golf clubs had what we now refer to as V grooves. 1984 to 2010, a majority of golfers were using U-grooves. This change improved the skills levels of golfers, especially out of the rough, because of the sharp, deep grooves on the clubs. In essence, the U-grooves, on wedges particularly, were making it so that hitting a ball out of the rough wasn't as penal as it was intended to be. With that, the USGA decided it was time to make a change, including the PGA of America and the R&A. The new specs less volume, less sharpness apply to all irons for groove volume and all irons with loft of 25 degrees or greater for groove sharpness. The revisions are designed to restore the challenge of playing shots to the green from the rough by reducing backspin on those shots. For this reason, the purpose of this study will explore ways to analyze the literature in response to the new groove rules of tips. Wish golfers to adapt to this change and trend.
