This article aims to construct and validate a model of the relationship between empowerment, tourism impact, and support for tourism development, in order to understand the relationship between residents' empowerment, tourism impact, and support for tourism development. The research subjects were residents of Beigang Town, Yunlin County, and a total of 423 valid questionnaires were obtained. After literature review and relevant organization, a structural equation model was used for analysis. The empirical results showed that empowerment had a positive and significant impact on tourism shock, and tourism shock had a positive and significant impact on the support of tourism development. Moreover, tourism shock was completely mediated in the model. Based on the aforementioned survey results, this article proposes practical management implications and suggestions for future research directions.
