This study aims to evaluate both spatial and temporal changes associated with remediated landslides and remediation efficiency before and after implementation of the ”Shih-Men Reservoir Watershed and Its Sub-Watershed Remediation Plan”. On a temporal scale, after the completion of remediation engineering, the amount of landslide area gradually has reduced. This trend was especially apparent in the Yufeng watershed. On a spatial scale, the benefits of artificial remediation efforts clearly accelerated the landslide area recovery process. From 2008, just after Typhoon Jangmi, to 2009, just before typhoon Morakot, the rate of remediated landslides recovered 2.2 times better than non-remediated landslides.
