大學專業與通識課程運用教學助理之成效與影響因素分析

An Analysis of the Effectiveness of Teaching Assistants in Core Courses and General Education Courses at College Level

摘要


如何提升大學教學品質是當前全球高等教育界所共同面臨的重要課題,爲促成大學專業課程的精緻化和通識課程的深化,國內外大學普遍運用教學助理以協助教師提升教學品質;然而探討教學助理協助教師提升教學之成效及影響因素的實證研究,無論在國內外皆屬罕見。本文根據台灣中部一所教學助理制度規劃完善的大學所蒐集之教學助理成效問卷,深入分析專業與通識課程運用教學助理之成效及影響因素背景,並比較其異同。研究結果顯示,專業與通識課程教學助理之成效皆爲中上程度,但其影響因素多有不同。根據研究結果,本文最後提出教學助理應加強學習教學知能、大學於規劃教學品質提升方案時應考量專業與通識課程的不同特性等具體建議。

Enhancing the teaching and learning quality in higher education has become a critical issue faced by global higher educational institutions. To further sophisticate core curriculum courses and strengthen general education courses at universities, it is common for universities to employ teaching assistants (TA) to achieve this goal, however, the empirical research investigating the teaching assistants’ effectiveness and factors affecting it is rare. This research aims to explore TA's effectiveness and factors affecting it by exploiting the questioner data collected within a university in central Taiwan. Research results show that the TA's effectiveness in core curriculum and general education courses are both above average, but affecting factors are different. Based on research result, this research proposes practical suggestions like TAs need to develop their pedagogical knowledge, and universities need to consider the difference of core curriculum and general education when designing strategies to enhance teaching and learning quality in higher education.
