摘要

本文旨在評介夏春濤所著《天國的隕落－太平天國宗教再研究》。本書作者詳論太平天國宗教的創立、教義、經典、儀式、節日與傳播情況，分析上帝教與中國民間宗教和西方基督教的關係，亦兼論太平天國的內外政策、社會理想及其最終覆滅的原因，完整呈現了與宗教相關的各項議題，其研究的廣度與深度均超越了學界傳統的框架。而作者將各議題置於太平天國歷史變遷的脈絡下討論，既顧及了微觀的宗教與思想特徵的論述，又從宏觀的視野掌握了各方面出現轉折的趨勢。本書探討的主題與觀點雖有值得延伸探討及商榷的空間，但整體而言仍為一部優越的太平天國專史著作。

This article's content is a review of Xia Chun-tao's book ”Heaven's Fall: the Further Study of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Religion”. In the book, the author discusses the foundation, doctrines, scriptures, festivals and dissemination of the Taiping religion. He also explores the relationships between God-worshipping, Chinese folk religion and Christianity, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's interior and diplomacy, social Ideology and the reasons for Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's decline. In addition, the author discusses each topic in the context of the Taiping Rebellion's history. He not only examines the features of the religion and thoughts, but also reveals the main trends of transition from various aspects. Overall, although there is some space for an extended discussion and review of the book's partial topics and points of view, it is still an excellent writings of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's history.
