This article's content is a review of Xia Chun-tao's book ”Heaven's Fall: the Further Study of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Religion”. In the book, the author discusses the foundation, doctrines, scriptures, festivals and dissemination of the Taiping religion. He also explores the relationships between God-worshipping, Chinese folk religion and Christianity, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's interior and diplomacy, social Ideology and the reasons for Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's decline. In addition, the author discusses each topic in the context of the Taiping Rebellion's history. He not only examines the features of the religion and thoughts, but also reveals the main trends of transition from various aspects. Overall, although there is some space for an extended discussion and review of the book's partial topics and points of view, it is still an excellent writings of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's history.
