The government of the Republic of China moved to Taiwan in 1949. Under the background of lingering warfare, economic downturn, national upheaval, and international isolation, National Day military parades were officially held for 11 times. The frequency of the parades was high, and this mirrored military resistance between the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China. To tightly seize control of Taiwan and demonstrate state authority, officials of the Republic of China had to use a certain set of political theater. Based on the theater, the ideology of recovering the Mainland China was constructed. Also, with propaganda, it was turned into Taiwan people's collective memory. This article aims to analyze from different aspects the ceremonies set for National Day military parades.
