Rhetoric is the art practices that enhances the verbal or textual effects of languages. As languages formed, human beings have the need of rhetoric. Writing or speaking ability expresses the ultimate performance of the rhetorical art. Being a teacher for more than two decades, it reveals to me that I especially interested in developing the professional teaching materials. Teacher's guidelines are based on the compiling rhetoric of Chinese textbook. It is also one of the main sources of teachers' preparation. What is the content of my research? First, the research organizes and analyzes the rhetorical teaching materials in order to understand its categories. Then, the research is directed towards providing comments and suggestions of rhetorical teaching materials on Chinese textbook. It includes first to sixth graders using Nan-Yi publisher's Chinese textbook at Long-Fong Elementary School. Moreover, it will also extend further thinking dimension to those who care about rhetorical teaching materials and the editors of textbooks. Hopefully, my research can present a new method for guiding students to acquire the knowledge of rhetoric.
