長期接觸和漢化影響下,民間信仰複雜的神觀,隨著漢人移墾也帶入馬蘭阿美族的部落中。漢系民間信仰是馬蘭阿美族人近二十年發展最迅速的宗教。馬蘭阿美族人信仰民間宗教基本上有兩個體系,一是慈惠堂體系,一是一般獨立廟宇、神壇。這兩種形式的廟宇、神壇成為馬蘭阿美族人普遍之信仰。由於馬蘭阿美族人信仰已經受到漢人同化,原本的傳統宗教祭儀與神觀受到影響而逐漸沒落,傳統信仰問事的方式幾乎已完全被漢人宗教信仰所取代,阿美族人逐漸用採取民間信仰儀式祈福消災、醫病趕鬼、繞境、廟慶等各種活動,其民間信仰態度和行為已和漢人並無二致,而這股信仰民間宗教的宗教行為,目前有從台東北上延伸之趨勢。
After years of coming into contact with the Han, complex religious folk belief in God was introduced to Malan Amis People with the influx of Han immigrants. Han religious folk belief is the fastest developing religion among the Malan Amis People for the past two decades. Basically there are two systems in the religious belief of the Malan Amis People, one being the Temple and the other include common independent temples and houses of worship. These two forms of temple and houses of worship have become the most prevalent religious belief among Malan Amis People. Due to the influence of the Han, traditional religious belief, rituals and perception of God of the Malan Amis People have also been assimilated and gradually disappeared. Religious rituals have almost been completely replaced by Han religious belief; in terms of attitude and behavior, Amis People's current practice of praying for blessing, dispelling sickness and evil, pilgrimage procession as well as temple celebrations are almost identical to that of the Han. There is a trend developing whereby this force of religious folk belief is extending northwards from Taitung.
